Put simply, these cool-running systems are much lighter, making them ultra-easy to transport and set up - and our no-compromise design means you get amazingly-deep, chestpounding bass that will keep the party going all night long. They'll add needed bottom-end to your active full-range speaker system. What is Class-D Technology? Instead of operating relatively continuously like Class AB circuits, Class-D amps switch on and off thousands of times per second, delivering power only when needed. In other words, the amplifier is either fully on or fully off , which significantly reduces power losses from the output devices given off as heat. Less heat means our amps don't need massive heat sinks, and that means we can make them lighter. Our no-compromise design means the B1500D-PRO and B1800D-PRO will deliver full power with incredible fidelity all night long, without the need for lengthy rest cycles. When used in conjunction with switching-mode power supplies, which don't require huge and heavy transformers, our Class-D amplifiers provide tremendous dynamic punch and superior fidelity. The resulting speaker systems are much lighter, making them easy to transport and set up. Custom-Designed Transducers The transducers (woofers and tweeters) are the only part of a sound system you actually hear, so we don't cut any corners. We custom-design and built our transducers from scratch. Not only do we wind our own voice coils, we process the paper pulp into cones and even machine our own backplates. This enables us to control the quality, and frankly, make better components. Take control The B1500D-PRO and B1800D-PRO feature balanced XLR inputs and outputs, as well as balanced XLR THRU jacks for connecting additional enclosures. A BOOST FREQUENCY knob targets a boost frequency between 45 Hz and 90 Hz. Flick the BOOST switch to give your selected frequency a +6 dB boost. These subs also feature a HIGH CUT dial to control the upper corner frequency for the subwoofer's amplifier. The HIGH CUT dial does not affect the THRU signals, only signals directed to the subwoofer (however, it does affect the signals sent out through the Output sockets of the subwoofer to reach the full-range speakers). A LEVEL knob controls the input gain, and the PHASE switch reverses output phase to compensate for frequency cancellation between the subwoofer and satellite speakers. LEDs show operational status at a glance, including power, signal present and input overloads. Which Speaker Do I Need? As you have probably noticed, we make these subwoofers in two different woofer sizes. Which one is right for you? An 18" woofer has more surface area with which to move air than a 15". Here.. www.nevadamusic.co.uk The KRK VXT range is a slightly upmarket studio monitor from the RP Rokit series and is aimed at the more discerning home/project studio owner, the VXT 6 is the mid sized monitor in the range and is a seriously good studio monitor that has been designed and crafted with care, it uses the very best base materials to produce professional level results albeit perhaps in smaller style control/mixing environments ... The VXT 6 deploys custom-designed drivers in a curved housing, in order to reduce diffraction and cabinet resonance, however rather than using wood or cast metal, the KRK cabinets are made from ABS structural foam, which is both strong and well-damped. The moulding process means that parallel walls can be eliminated, which reduces the build-up of internal standing waves at specific frequencies. Omni-mount points are fitted to the cabinets for fixed installation purposes and the metal rear panel doubles as a heat sink whilst mains power comes in on a conventional IEC socket - a kettle plug to you and I, with a power switch located on the back of the monitor. The VXT6 is a ported, active, two-way design, combining a one-inch, silk-domed tweeter with a six-inch bright yellow woven Kevlar-cone bass and mid driver, both of which are fitted to a metal baffle and are flush with the front of the cabinet. KRK have a very credible reputation as the manufacturers of accurate yet excellent sounding studio monitors, their speakers are used by the good and the great and if you'd care to check via the World Wide Web you'll find KRK monitors in some of the very best recording studios on the planet ... However, let me say at this point that accurate studio monitors are incapable of lying, so if the sound is poor when being recorded it will still be poor when played back through some otherwise commendable studio monitors such as the KRK RP6's. None the less, assuming that you have good quality throughout your audio chain the RP6's will give you totally accurate results and thereby help you with the task of mixing. For me their greatest detail is in the mid-range as I personally beleive if you can get the mid-range frequencies right in a mix then you're half way to a successful mix completion. The mid-range on the RP6 model is open and airy with well defined character, there's no cloudyness or muddy mid-range here and that in turn seems to tighten the bottom end and compartmentalise the frequencies, for although this is only a 6 " speaker it still provides a big sound with a decent amount of bottom end.
