Plasma speaker "Hi-Fi"

This is the result of my latest experimentation, a high-quality low distortion transformer plasma arc speaker ("singing arc"). A PWM audio modulation circuit (TL494) runs at 40kHz, drives two mosfets in phase in a "half-controlled fullbridge" fashion (two switch single pulse forward-flyback converter). A RC damping network on the primary gets rid of unwanted oscillations during the free-wheeling phase. As always, the camera distorts the sound a bit and cuts treble, it sounds cleaner in real life.

Condoleezza Rice supporting Mitt Romney for president and in the content of her speech Condi makes familiar points which her fans will recognise. This fan reckons that the reports that Condi spoke without notes are correct. The speech was a shade less meticulous and more "from the heart" than we usually hear from Condi. Well no wonder Condi stole the show! At about 12:30 near the end of this audio, Mitt Romney can be heard saying "That's why President Bush named her Secretary of State, I think!". This meeting was reported on at the time Rice for President Yahoo Group, message 2240.
