This is a super quick video for a Talkbass.com forum poster who had a few questions about getting non-"funky," or "duck quacking" tones out of his bass guitar using an envelope filter. I tried (and I think only partially succeeded) at finding some non-funky sounds. Equipment used was a Warwick Thumb Bolt-On 5-string bass, the Source Audio Soundblox Bass Envelope Filter Pro, Malekko B:assmaster fuzz pedal, and a Carvin BX600 amp with a 15" speaker. All of this mostly high end gear's sound was then destroyed by recording the whole thing on a crappy hand-held digital camera. I hope you enjoy, and find the sound/tone that you're looking for!

It's been a long time since my last video of playing Tap Tap, and a few things have changed: 1) The speed: As you might have noticed, it is pretty fast. You might say that this is edited or accelerated, but I have to tell you: This video is original speed. I practiced a bit in the past 6 months to become the fastest player, and I do my best to get there. 2) The audio: I now use bass boosted Canton GLE 490 speakers and a high quality amplifier, making the best out of the music, as you might hear. It sounds much better than the microphone can ever record... it sounds like the music was directly made in my room :) and the bass makes the air shake, thus: Enjoy the music! :) Although you won't read in the news about this, I sometimes feel like "the Champ" doing FCs at this speed. At the end, I alternated with two fingers, what is probably visible. I hope you like the vid :)

Stimulating the economy during a recession can be very pleasurable!! Just giving em a demonstration right outta the box! (well...not exactly, i had them inspected, polished, even tidied the room, had a coffee, did some work, warmed my valves, and then gave them a listen, this is the first track i put on and decided to record this. As you know i'm a big fan of Vienna acoustics, they produce a lush sound that suits my acoustic taste and these amazing beauties have down-to-earth price tags. Anyways, to hell with the economic crisis!
