Sorry about the previous upload. YouTube did something strange to it in the upload process, but all is well now! Please read the full description for more information about this video! These are the speakers that will be replacing the dying Freespace Model 32's in my room. Despite what the camera microphone picks up, these are actually really nice speakers with nice highs, decent midrange (which will probably end up being cut just a little on the software EQ I use on the computer that controls all my background music), and deep bass. If you've heard these out in public and left with the impression that they sound like crap, someone didn't take the time to set the EQ the right way. I know of at least three installations using these speakers that falls under the, "could've been a nice install, but the EQ process was fudged," category. These do bass 10 times better than the 102F's, so it's not surprising a lot of businesses where you would've seen the 102F before it was discontinued are now using the DS16F all-around. My "test rig" is comprised of an iPod Touch 4th-Generation with EQ set at "flat" and an Atlas Sound AA35 amplifier using the 8-ohm output. The AA35 is nice, but I'll probably continue to use my TOA in 70-volt mode when I install these. The speakers will also be painted before I install them. The stock white paint is way too bright for my ceiling--and the point of a ceiling speaker is to be completely out of the way and blend in with the surroundings, not stick ...
