Stairway to Heaven played on Penny Whistle (Tin Whistle)

Stairway to Heaven played on Penny Whistle (Tin Whistle) Video Clips. Duration : 8.73 Mins.

They said it couldn't be done, they said it shouldn't be done... but here it is! The technical stuff The main tune is played on my trusty Clarke C whistle. The high tune at the end is played on generation G whistle and an octave down on Clarke C with the two instruments placed on the left and right speakers. part of the main melody was recorded twice on the Clarke whistle and placed on opposite speakers to give the sound more core. The organ is actually midi organ off my sound card but recorded as a separate track with a phasing effect to make it sound like its going through a Leslie speaker. The choir of whistles in the opening section and under the tune is a four track harmony of Schlegel wooden whistle in C which sounds like a recorder. These are the same design as the Tamlinn whistles. By the time the reverb tracks were created there were over 20 tracks that had to be mixed down to create the finished recording. The music itself started as a detailed score. I marked this up with what instrument was to do what sections and which bits needed beefed up by overdubbing. Its not perfect but its a good attempt.
